What Is Sunken Cheek?
Sunken cheeks refer to a facial feature where the mid-face area, particularly the cheekbones and the area below them, appears hollow or indented. This can create a gaunt or aged appearance, as the loss of volume in the cheeks can affect the overall contour and fullness of the face. It occurs when there is minimal tissue between the mandible and the zygoma, which is the bony arch situated beneath the eye.
